Hyde Park Veterinary Centre

The Hyde Park Veterinary Centre was set up in 1998 by vet Andrew Prentis with the specific intention of establishing a centre dedicated to the practice of Integrated Medicine for Pets.

The veterinary team has been integrating conventional and complementary medicine for the care and treatment cats and dogs since the late 1980's, when Andrew set up his first Osteopathic Clinic for Pets with the hugely talented osteopath, Jeremy Gilbey.

Andrew's long veterinary experience includes being the Director of a teaching hospital at the Royal Veterinary College in London, time spent in private veterinary practice in Kent, 5 years at the now famous RSPCA Animal Hospital in London and third country development work based in North Africa.

He has teamed up with clinicians such as Nick Thompson (vet, homoeopath, acupuncturist and fellow raw food feeding enthusiast), Nadine Hobson (osteopath) and Odile Sicouri (wonderful vet, with a specialist interest in emergency medicine) to establish a centre that integrates the use of modern pharmaceuticals and surgery with homoeopathy, osteopathy, acupuncture and herbs, and the use of nutritional supplements has become central to their work in every field. Visit www.hydeparkvet.co.uk for more information.

Patients often travel long distances - from as far as Somerset and Norfolk - to come to the centre in London, and many of them talk about their difficulties finding this kind of holistic approach to veterinary care in their local areas.

Vetscriptions has been set up to help address some of these difficulties, to provide an on-line resource for animal owners that wish to find out more about Integrative Medicine and to use Nutritional Supplements for the benefit of their cat and dog companions.
