How to order Prescription Medicines

The law now allows you to choose whether to buy your animal Prescription Only Medicines (POM-Vs) and other health products from your vet or whether you'd like to save yourself up to 50% on every single purchase by buying them on-line from Vetscriptions.co.uk.

And it couldn't be easier.
This is all you have to do:

1) Ask your vet for a written prescription for the medicines that your pet needs. Your vet will still need to see your pets just as often for health checks and monitoring BUT the medicines will be much cheaper!

You can start to fill out some of the details and then ask your vet to complete and sign it

2) Go to www.vetscriptions.co.uk, order the medicines and make your secure payment, saving up to 50% on every product ordered.

3) Post the original prescription to:

- as soon as we receive the prescription, we will send the medicine to you, by first class mail for next day delivery – it couldn’t be easier!

- Please note that Veterinary Prescription Only Medicines (POM-V's) can only be supplied to purchasers within the United Kingdom, on receipt of a Prescription from a UK-registered veterinary surgeon

(Since the 31st October 2008, vets have been able to charge you for issuing a prescription. Some do, some don’t. We suggest that you ask your vet for a REPEAT PRESCRIPTION every time – this allows us to dispense several times on each prescription and makes sure that you get maximum benefit from our fantastic low prices.

Please note:

– we must have the original prescription: faxes, photocopies or scans are not acceptable.
- a Prescription is only valid for 6 months from the date of signing
- We can only dispense up to the total quantity stated on the prescription. If you attempt to order more, you will be refunded the difference less a £2.50 handling charge.
- a prescription is a legal document. As such, any attempt to alter or amend a prescription may be considered a criminal offence with possible serious consequences. If we have any concerns about the validity of a prescription, the details will be verified with the issuing veterinary surgeon.

How to find your Veterinary Prescription Only Medicine (POM-V) from Vetscriptions

1) The simplest way is to use the search button on the menu along the top of each page. Type in the name of the medicine you wish to purchase and click on search. If the medicine is specifically listed on our site, the page will come up and you can follow the normal purchase process.

2) Alternatively, all our prescription medicines are also listed alphabetically. Click on the Prescription Only Medicines button to the left of your screen and then on the alphabetical sub-category. When the page opens, scroll down until you find the medicine you need, then follow the normal purchase process.

3) If you cannot find the medicine you need, email us on vetscriptions@aol.com or call us on 0845 177 1234 and we will quote you a price straight away. The product you need will be listed on the site later that day!
