Deodorising, wax dissolving ear cleaner for dogs and cats Cerusolve™ is a potent ear cleaner with an extremely supple cannula for safe and effective deep cleaning of the ear. It has a very gentle formula yet is very effective at cleaning wax and dirt from deep in the ear.
It has an agreeable herbal fragrance which deodorises smelly ears (a problem all spaniel owners will recognise)!
In recent laboratory tests (not conducted in animals) we demonstrated the effectiveness of Cerusolve™ against the major microbes which can cause problems in dogs and cats ears.
In cases of external otitis (ear disease) your veterinary surgeon will probably prescribe an antibiotic preparation. Most of these antibiotics will not work in very acid or very alkaline conditions. It is therefore very important that an ear cleaner, which is to be used to clean ears before these antibiotics are used, has neutral pH.
Cerusolve™ has a neutral pH of 7.
To clean your animals ears, introduce a few millilitres of the solution into the animals ear taking care not to insert the applicator too deeply.
Gently massage the ear from the base upwards and use cotton wool (not tissue paper nor cotton buds) to remove the wax and dirt. The procedure may be repeated.
In dogs with drooping ears frequent application may be advisable.

Cerusolve ™ contains glycerine and polyethylene glycol, which have emollient and softening properties. They clean deep into the ear without drying or irritating.
Cerusolve ™ has excellent efficacy against the hyper-secretion of cerumen (ear wax).
Cerusolve ™ ensures complete dissolution of cerumen thanks to the cerumenolytic action of xylene.
Tests conducted at an independent veterinary laboratory confirmed that invitro Cerusolve™ kills the following organisms commonly involved in ear disease of dogs and cats:
- Yeasts
- Malassezia pachydermatis
- Aerobic bacteria
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- Staphylococcus intermedius
- ß haemolytic Streptococcus spp.
- Pasteurella multocida
- E. coli
- Proteus spp.
- Anaerobic bacteria
- Prevotella oralis
NB/ These tests were conducted in laboratory cultures and do not indicate that cerusolve is appropriate for treatment of ear disease where these organisims may be invloved.
Cerusolve ™ not only cleans but also eliminates all disagreeable odours thanks to the deodorising behaviour of rosemary essence.
Published studies have demonstrated that menthol has local anaesthetic properties in the ear and so when applied to dogs and cats it soothes the very uncomfortable itching which causes them to scratch and do themselves further damage.
Cerusolve ™: safe cleaning. The long, supple, non-traumatic cannula permits the deepest possible cleaning of the ear without causing damage to the hearing canal.

Cerusolve ™ may be used in cases of external otitis to clean the ears and ensure more efficacious treatment with appropriate subsequent medical treatments.
Cerusolve ™ is a single ear cleaning product for dogs and cats. It should be used once or twice per week. It should also be used during ear infections to clear the external ear canal before drug application, to ensure that the efficacy of the treatment is not reduced by the presence of excess ear wax and debris.
