Older Cats
Old Age presents its own special problems as body
tissues become tired and worn. Kidney function deteriorates causing uraemia, the liver is less able to detoxify the blood, the heart and circulation are less able to respond to demand and arthritis starts as the joints wear and the muscles stiffen. As the immune system becomes less efficient, the likelihood of one of the cancers becoming a problem increases.
But this doesn't all need to be a disaster story. We recommend Vitamin and especially Mineral supplements in all our older patients. In renal failure, Ipakitine can help reduce hyperphospataemia.
