Wormers for Cattle, Sheep & Pigs In 2008, 91% of dairy farms tested had a high level of worm infection. In 2009, the International Parasite Solutions (PARASOL) project has new recommendations on anthelminthic use in the face of rising levels of resistant strains of worms. Strategic worming of flocks, herds or individuals based on weight gain and worm egg counts rather than blanket worming of all animals can result in significant cost savings (typically £600 per farm per year) and helps slow the spread of anthelminthic resistance.
