Advocate for Cats is a convenient way to protect your cat as it is a spot-on product, meaning no tablets for your cat and no combination treatments are required. Each application spreads rapidly over your pet, killing 98-100% of adult fleas within 12 hours of an application and flea larvae in the cat's environment. After application of Advocate, Moxidectin enters your cat's bloodstream and with monthly use will prevent heartworm and ear mite infection. Advocate for Cats is highly effective as a single application.
Advocate for Cats provides a superb treatment of both internal and external parasites in cats. One application of Advocate treats any existing parasite infection, protects against new infection as the treatment will last for four weeks and prevents new infections from establishing.
The recommended application for ferrets is one pipette of Advocate spot-on solution for Small Cats and Ferrets per animal. Do not exceed the recommended application.
Application, remove one pipette from the package, hold the pipette in an upright position and twist and pull off the cap. Reverse the cap and use it to twist and remove the seal from the pipette. Part the fur on the cats neck at the base of the skull until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze the pipette firmly several times to empty its contents directly onto the skin. Application at the base of the skull will minimize the opportunity for the animal to lick the product.
Contra-indications and warnings; do not use in kittens under 9 weeks of age or weighing less than 1 kg, do not use in the case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or in sick and debilitated animals. The product is bitter tasting and thus salivation may occasionally occur if the animal licks the application site immediately after treatment. This is not a sign of intoxication and disappears within some minutes without treatment. Correct application will minimize licking of the application site. In case of accidental oral uptake, symptomatic treatment should be administered. After accidental oral ingestion transient neurological signs such as ataxia, generalised tremors, ocular signs, abnormal respiration, salivation and vomiting may be observed infrequently.
The use of the product may result in transient pruritus and on rare occasions greasy fur, erythema and vomiting can occur. The product may in very rare cases cause at the application site a sensation resulting in transient behavioural changes such as lethargy, agitation, and inappetence. These signs disappear without further treatment.
