Prescription Anti-Inflammatory Pain Relief for Dogs with Arthritis or Post-Surgical Pain

Ficoxil® Chewable Tablets are a prescription-only veterinary medicine (POM-V) containing firocoxib, a selective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Ficoxil is used to relieve pain and inflammation in dogs, particularly those suffering from osteoarthritis, or recovering from orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery.

Available in 57mg and 227mg chewable tablets, Ficoxil allows accurate, weight-based dosing for dogs of all sizes, from smaller companions to large and giant breeds. The palatable chewable format makes administration easier, even for fussy eaters.

Key Benefits:

  • Provides fast-acting pain relief for dogs with arthritis and mobility issues

  • Reduces inflammation, swelling, and stiffness in joints

  • Supports comfortable recovery following surgery

  • Chewable, flavoured tablets improve compliance and ease of dosing

  • Available in 57mg (small/medium dogs) and 227mg (large dogs)

  • Safe for daily use under veterinary supervision

Active Ingredient:

  • Firocoxib – a COX-2 selective NSAID that blocks the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation, while minimising the gastrointestinal side effects often associated with traditional NSAIDs.

Indications:

  • Osteoarthritis and chronic joint conditions in dogs

  • Post-operative pain management following soft tissue or orthopaedic surgery

  • Short-term and long-term pain relief in line with veterinary advice

Available Strengths:

  • Ficoxil 57mg Chewable Tablets – suitable for small to medium-sized dogs

  • Ficoxil 227mg Chewable Tablets – designed for large and giant breed dogs

Both strengths are scored, allowing accurate dose adjustments according to body weight.

Directions for Use:

  • Administer orally once daily, at the dose prescribed by your vet

  • Can be given with or without food

  • Tablets may be split for precise weight-based dosing

  • Long-term use requires regular veterinary monitoring
