Dual-Action Prescription Treatment for Canine Heart Failure

Fortekor® Plus Tablets are a Prescription Only Medicine – Veterinary (POM-V) formulated for the management of congestive heart failure (CHF) in dogs. They contain a dual combination of benazepril hydrochloride (an ACE inhibitor) and pimobendan (an inodilator), two proven active ingredients that work synergistically to improve heart function and quality of life in affected dogs.

By reducing blood pressure and supporting cardiac contractility, Fortekor Plus helps dogs with CHF breathe easier, maintain better energy levels, and live more comfortably. It is available in 1.25mg/2.5mg tablets (for small dogs) and 5mg/10mg tablets (for medium to large dogs).

Active Ingredients (per tablet):

How Fortekor Plus Works:

• Pimobendan – an inodilator that increases the heart’s pumping efficiency and dilates blood vessels to improve circulation.

• Benazepril hydrochloride – an ACE inhibitor that lowers blood pressure and reduces strain on the heart while also protecting kidney function.

Together, they provide comprehensive management of CHF, targeting both cardiac function and vascular health.

Indications:

• Treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF) in dogs, particularly due to dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) or degenerative mitral valve disease (MVD).

Directions for Use:

• Administer orally, once or twice daily as prescribed by your veterinarian

• May be given with or without food, but should be given consistently at the same time each day

• Tablets are scored for accurate dosing based on your dog’s weight

• Long-term treatment requires regular veterinary monitoring, including heart checks and blood work
