Itrafungol 52mg Oral Solution
Itrafungol is used for effective treatment of ringworm (also known as dermatophytosis). Ringworm is a fungal infection that develops in warm, moist areas of the body and is identified by a ring-shaped rash, hair loss in the area and localised swelling and itching.
As a prescription-only medication, Itrafungol must be prescribed by a vet but can be purchased from Vetscriptions with a saving of at least 40%. Itrafungol is an orally administered treatment given once daily for 7 days. This treatment is then repeated on alternate weeks so that treatment is given on week 1, week 3 and week 5. No treatment is given on week 2 or week 4. Ideally, medication is administered on an empty stomach to improve absorption.
Ringworm can pass between animals and humans, so it is important to make sure that you minimise contact with the infected animal as much as possible until treatment is complete.
